Brian Dozier announced his retirement from baseball this week. So how much did he make in his career?
On Thursday, former All-Star second baseman Brian Dozier announced his retirement after nine MLB seasons.
Dozier’s best seasons came with the Minnesota Twins, who drafted him in the 8th round of the 2009 Draft out of Southern Miss. He hit more than 20 home runs in five straight seasons from 2014-2018, including 42 in 2016 and 34 in 2017. He garnered AL MVP votes in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Dozier was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018, where he was part of the NL pennant winner. In 2019, he hit 20 home runs over 135 games for the eventual World Series champion Washington Nationals. He landed with the New York Mets in 2020, with only 16 plate appearances in seven games.
For his career, Dozier posted a .244/.325/.441 slash-line (107 OPS+) with 192 home runs, 561 RBI and 105 stolen bases. He was an All-Star in 2015, and he won a Gold Glove in 2017.
