Career Salary Game: Mark Brunell
As he steps into NFL coaching for the first time, how much did Mark Brunell make during his playing career?
Mark Brunell is the new quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions. It won’t be his first time coaching, as he was a high school coach several years ago. But it will be his first foray into NFL coaching.
Most people will remember Brunell for his long career as a quarterback in the NFL. He started out as a backup to Brett Favre with the Green Packers in 1994, before the Jacksonville Jaguars traded for him and made him the first quarterback in franchise history. He later suited up for Washington, New Orleans and the New York Jets in a career that spanned 17 seasons.
Brunell started 151 games in his career, mostly for the Jaguars (117 starts, 1995-2003) and Washington (33 starts, 2004-2006) before retiring after the 2011 season at age-41.
So with all of that in mind, how much do you think Brunell made during his playing career? Scroll down to find out.
According to Over The Cap, Brunell earned $70,637,625 during his career. It’s worth noting he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010, largely due to real estate deals that went bad. But there seemed to be no subsequent issues, and it was put behind him quickly.
